MOLCHAT DOMA 2/15

— February 15, 2025 —

Snow blanketed Boston on the evening of February 15, but inside Roadrunner, Molchat Doma and opener Sextile brought the heat with their electrifying performances. Los Angeles-based post-punk band Sextile kicked things off, blending techno and punk into a high-energy set that had the crowd moving from the first beat. When Molchat Doma hit the stage, their mesmerizing sound completely took over, pulling everyone in with their deep, atmospheric synths and bass-driven intensity.

The Minsk-based trio created an immersive atmosphere with their eerie synths, driving basslines, and haunting vocals. Songs like “Клетка” and “Волны” pulled the crowd deeper into their dark, cinematic world, each note building more tension and drawing everyone in. With little to no stage banter, they let the music speak for itself, fully captivating the audience and amplifying the eerie, atmospheric vibe.

The night concluded with their iconic masterpiece, “Судно,” and Roadrunner exploded. The moment those first notes rang out, the place was pure chaos—fans jumping, shouting every word, completely lost in the pounding rhythm. As the final echoes of the song faded, the energy still crackled in the air, proof that even the iciest, most melancholic music can leave a venue ignited with energy.
